Brand Design for Whereby

BRAND DESIGN

Whereby: elevating the current brand design work

In 2021, I joined Whereby as a freelance Brand Designer, embedded within the marketing team. Whereby already had a rare thing in the SaaS world — a genuinely beautiful, distinctive brand identity. My role wasn't to reinvent it, but to expand it: creating campaign assets, brand awareness materials, and original illustrations that felt native to the existing visual language. The challenge was staying faithful to a strong creative system while finding room to push it forward.

Where better meetings happen - Manifesto poster and checklist

As part of the brand awareness campaign Where Better Meetings Happen, I developed a suite of on-brand assets for Whereby's social channels and blog. The centrepiece was a printable manifesto poster — designed to live in people's home offices and serve as a daily reminder of what good meeting culture looks like. It was a simple but effective way to turn brand values into something tangible that the community could actually own.

The poster above is being offered to the community of followers to print out and have it in their home-offices.

Pride 2021: new custom meeting backgrounds

For Pride 2021, I designed three custom virtual meeting backgrounds that Whereby users could apply directly to their rooms — a small but meaningful way to show up and show support. Each background was built from scratch or reworked from Whereby's existing illustration library, keeping the execution fully on-brand while giving it a celebratory, distinctly queer energy. The result was a set of assets that felt genuinely expressive rather than performative — the kind of thing people actually want to use.
